At Tuhina School of English, we believe that every small achievement is a meaningful step towards mastering the English language.
Today, we are delighted to celebrate the wonderful progress of one of our 8-year-old Cambridge English YLE Movers students!
During a recent Science lesson, our young learner was given a simple challenge: write about a penguin and describe what it can and cannot do.
Rather than relying on a teacher to construct the sentence, he independently applied his English language knowledge to express his ideas.
What makes this achievement special is not simply the length of the sentence, but the thinking behind it.
Our young learner successfully demonstrated:
- Independent sentence construction – expressing his ideas without having the sentence written for him.
- Use of connectors – applying “and”, “but” and “or” to connect different ideas.
- Vocabulary application – using familiar action words in a meaningful context.
- Developing grammatical awareness – experimenting with sentence structure and modal verbs.
- Confidence in writing – transforming what he has learnt into his own written expression.
At just eight years old, he is beginning to understand that English is more than memorising vocabulary or completing exercises. It is a language he can use to communicate his own thoughts.
This is the kind of progress we value at Tuhina School of English.
We celebrate not only perfect answers but also independent thinking, creativity, effort and the courage to try.
With continuous guidance, encouragement and practice, these small achievements become the foundation for stronger communication skills and lifelong learning.
Well done, young achiever! We are incredibly proud of your effort and progress. Keep learning, keep exploring and keep expressing yourself!
